Rodea: The Sky Soldier Collector’s Edition Includes Wii Disc Version. Release Date Delayed To November 2015 (3DS, Wii U)

Rodea: The Sky Soldier has been delayed with a new November 2015 release date. However as a reward for waiting, first print-run copies of this high-speed Nights meets Sin & Punishment flight game from Yuji Naka (creator of Sonic the Hedgehog) for the Wii U will include a bonus disc of the cancelled Wii version of the game! VERY COOL.

Rodea: The Sky Soldier will also be available on 3DS, and both the Wii U and 3DS versions will be available digitally for the Nintendo eShop when the game releases on November 13th, 2015!

Synopsis
1,000 years ago, Emperor Geardo of the Naga Empire sent an army of machine soldiers to invade the sky kingdom of Garuda. Thanks to the efforts of Princess Cecilia and Rodea, a machine soldier who promised to protect Garuda, Emperor Geardo’s assault was thwarted.

In present day, a spirited inventor named Ion discovers an abondoned robot that has fallen into disrepair in the heart of a scorching desert. Upon completing her repairs, the robot stirs to life and reveals herself to be none other than Rodea. Stunned to find himself in the future, Rodea learns that the Naga Empire is no more and the Garuda has known peace for 1,000 years.

But this peace was not meant to last, for the forces of Naga have returned to wage war against Garuda. Remembering the promise he made 1,000 years ago, Rodea takes to the skies o defend Garuda from the Naga Empire once again!

Rodea: The Sky Soldier is just what the doctor ordered for the ailing Wii U. Kudos to NIS America for bringing this title over in both digital AND physical forms, and offering a Rodea: The Sky Soldier Collector’s Edition to boot that includes the Wii version of the game!

The Wii version is said to be faster and to feature a smoother framerate, and this is the type of collector’s item that videogame collector’s are going to kill for in the future, so it’s all very nice.

We haven’t gotten an original Yuji Naka game in quite a long time (if memory serves), the last one I can recall is “Billy Hatcher & the Giant Egg”, an oft-forgotten GameCube platformer that very few people seemed to have played. It was a great game however from what I heard.

So hopefully AAA-starved Wii U owners will reward Yuji Naka and NIS America by picking up this game when it hits in November! ADD IT TO YOUR LIST and pre-order it if you are interested to show NIS you want to see more games like this!

Will you be buying Rodea: The Sky Soldier for Wii U or 3DS this November?
