The Witcher 3: How To Level Up Fast

Welcome to the “The Witcher 3: How To Level Up Fast” guide. On this page we’ll show you how to rank up fast in The Witcher 3, both Geralt and his horse Roach. Geralt’s max level cap is Level 70 after you do all story-related Main Quests and you get the other half by doing the 172 Side Quests & Contracts. And it will be raised to Level 100 in future expansions.

Let’s find out how to do it, since leveling up seems to be going more slowly the higher you’ve set the game’s difficulty level at.

Here we’ll go over how you can speed up the slow process of leveling up your rank at the start of the game.

Ranking up fast to increase your level quickly can be done through these tasks:

• Don’t get side-tracked by The Witcher 3’s beautiful and expansive world (not for too long anyway). Try and keep the story missions going by following the Main Quests.

• Play all the Side Quests that unlock: A) As you advance in between Main Quests; B) Get from the Bounty Board; C) Receive from talking to all the villagers. — You’ll need the experience you gain from these Side Quests to level up a couple of levels to be able to handle the monsters you’ll encounter in the next Main Quests.

• In White Orchard look for Hidden Treasures, Guarded Treasures, and Bandit Camps. These will give you low-level enemies to beat for experience and useful items to collect.

• Play the Gwent Cards Game right away from when you first encounter it in the bar (where Aldert Geert sits) at the start of the game. – Use our beginners guide to get started: “The Witcher 3: How To Play Gwent Cards Game“.

• Before taking on boss fights (like the Royal Griffin early on) research these monsters on the pause menu’s “Bestiary” tab to find out their weaknesses. Asking villagers about them and reading books on them will allow you to defeat monsters more quickly with a solid plan of attack.

How to level up your horse’s Inventory Weight Upgrades, Stamina & Fear Level:

Geralt isn’t the only constant companion who needs to be leveled up… Your horse Roach needs to level up too! 😀

Location To Start Racing: Complete all 3 Races (Secondary Quests) in Velen, at Crow’s Perch where the baron lives. The race quest is obtained in the middle of town at the Bulletin Board, then talk to Radko who arranges to horse races and sign up with him to get started.

Unlockables: Completing races means you receive upgrades to Inventory Weight to hold more items, Stamina for your horse to keep running, and Horse Blinders to increase the Fear your horse can take before dismounting you.
