Lego Marvel’s Avengers Videogame Announced (PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS, PS Vita, Mac)

Lego Marvel’s Avengers has been announced as in development by the creator Traveler’s Tales and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The videogame is being made in partnership with The Lego Group, like all the previous million-selling Lego videogames. It will arrive in Fall 2015 for nearly all systems, these include PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS, PS Vita, as well as Mac (via Steam).

Check out the Avengers: Age of Ultron film trailer that half this game is based on.

Lego Marvel’s Avengers is the follow-up (although not necessarily sequel) to the wildly successful “Lego Marvel Super Heroes” which released in 2013.

Like past Marvel franchise games based on films, this game will actually cover BOTH Avengers films… 2012’s The Avengers, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow & Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury (among others), and the upcoming Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, which debuts on May 1st, 2015.

While Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Nick Fury and Maria Hill are all on both movies and of course the game. The new roster additions will be Ultron, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and the Vision for starters.

This means that fans of first Avengers film will finally get to play a Lego-ized version of THAT phenomenal flick, while also getting to play through the sequel! SWEET!

But that’s not all, the press release states that players will get to play through “both films AND MORE” (emphasis mine)… What does “And more mean?”. Could there be videogame tie-ins to The Avengers 3 and The Avengers 4?

Both films have already been announced as “Avengers: Infinity War Part 1” in 2018 and “Avengers: Infinity War Part 2” in 2019 and are set to be filmed back-to-back later this year…

Might this mean that we will actually get some surprise elements of those future films in game form via Lego Marvel’s Avengers Videogame?

It’s certainly possible, but for now it’s just wild speculation!

PS: Here’s every cutscene made into one HOUR LONG movie from the Lego Marvel Super Heroes Videogame from 2013.
