How To Unlock All Additional Characters?: There is one method (sometimes two) to getting the rest of the characters. You can unlock more by fighting VS. matches in Smash Mode, where you’ll unlock a hidden character with every 10 matches you play, using any character you like. It doesn’t matter whether you win or lose, and if it’s in offline or online matches.

Fast Character Unlocking Tip: How to unlock all the secret characters fast and easy.
• Step 1: Make sure you’re playing with your best character.
• Step 2: Set the Smash Mode VS. match to 1 CPU Opponent, plus if available set the settings to 1 Stock and to the highest damage ratio.
• Step 3: If you had the option to set the damage ratio to high, you can win every match, since that will cause your opponent to get knocked back by a lot (makes for a speedy and easy kill). — Otherwise if you didn’t turn on the highest damage ratio, it may be faster to lose every match by immediately at the start of each match jumping off the stage to your death, since that still counts.
• Step 4: Then after every 10 matches you will get a battle with the next hidden character and after defeating the character he/she will be unlocked. — For example, if you lose your first 10 VS. matches, then you’ll face Ness. Beat the character to make him/her playable.

How To Unlock Jigglypuff

Super Smash Bros 3DS How To Unlock Jigglypuff
How To Unlock Jigglypuff: Play 120 VS matches OR [An unconfirmed 2nd method is to] Collect 30 Custom Moves & afterwards play a smash battle

Unlock Method #1: In Smash Mode play 120 VS. matches with any character, and then beat Jigglypuff in a fight. — It doesn’t matter whether you win or lose, and if it’s in offline or online matches, as long as you defeat her in the battle that follows you will unlock Jigglypuff (from the Pokemon series) as a playable fighter.

Unlock Method #2 & #3: [Unconfirmed alternate methods, but A & B work for most people]
A) Play the game and obtain 30 Custom Moves* and/or Equipment Items AKA Custom Parts in total, after which you can play any smash battle to make Jigglypuff appear for a fight (sometimes even after you quit a smash battle). Beat Jigglypuff in this fight to get her.

* Fast Custom Move Collecting Tip: The fastest way to collect Custom Moves is by using this easy trick to guarantee you get Custom Moves on the roulette wheel. Before each fight in Classic Mode, you get to choose a prize from the roulette wheel on your 3DS bottom screen. Since you always want Custom Moves, you’ll want to get ready to select the red numbers (it’s a red wrench icon in this & other modes as well). As the roulette wheel rotates press on the 3DS handheld’s Home button, then press on the Home button again to return to the game, and at the same time if you see it paused on a red number press and hold the A button to select it. To clarify, once you hit the Home button again (to return to the game) hold the A button.

B) Finish Classic Mode as Link or Zero Suit Samus, on 6.5 Intensity difficulty level and during the credits complete the Link picture at 100% by hitting ALL the credits. (May work at over 90% with any character, but is only confirmed with 100% as Link & Zero Suit Samus.) And then after the ending credits have rolled beat her in a fight to unlock her.

The other methods may simply be a result of this automatic custom move/item collecting as you play the game.
C) Finish Classic Mode or Arcade Mode with any character, on 7.0 Intensity difficulty level (or higher if you want); or
D) Finish Classic Mode for the twenty-fifth time with any character, on any Intensity difficulty level; or
E) Finish Smash Run Mode between 2-25 times.
And then after the ending credits have rolled beat Jigglypuff in a fight to get her.

How To Beat Jigglypuff In Battle: In this video guide Luke & Amber show (at 18:33 minutes in) how to beat Jigglypuff in her “A Challenger Approaches!” battle. After her defeat, she’ll be unlocked for play in the character roster.

Super Smash Bros 3DS Downloadable Characters?

Future DLC Characters?: In the Summer of 2014 rumors possibly leaked from Nintendo of Japan that hinted at DLC (downloadable content). Adding new characters through future characters DLC is more likely than you may think, because Nintendo worldwide are already doing this with Mario Golf on the 3DS & Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U by adding new characters there via “DLC Packs” on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. 🙂

Note: Once enough time has passed after Super Smash Bros 3DS’s worldwide launch on October 3rd 2014, no one should have a problem with the choice to download more character choices for a small fee.

Here we’ve listed the not yet included characters that are confirmed by Nintendo.

Confirmed DLC Characters:

How To Unlock Mewtwo

Super Smash Bros 3DS How To Unlock Mewtwo
How To Unlock Mewtwo: This downloadable bonus character becomes available in Spring 2015 if you buy both the Super Smash Bros. 3DS & Wii U games

Unlock Method #1: Mewtwo: This series veteran fighter from the Pokemon franchise will be made available as a free downloadable bonus character in Spring 2015 for anyone who registers both the Nintendo 3DS & Wii U versions of Super Smash Bros. with Club Nintendo. So make sure to buy both versions of the game during the promotional period*. In exchange you will receive two Mewtwo download codes, one for Wii U and one for 3DS.

*Registration for Club Nintendo required. To register the downloadable versions of the titles it is required to link your Nintendo Network ID with your Club Nintendo account prior to the purchase in the Nintendo eShop. Please allow 24 hours between linking and purchase in Nintendo eShop. The use of the Nintendo eShop requires the registration of Nintendo Network ID and acceptance of the network related terms and privacy policies.

Unlock Method #2: Mewtwo will not be available to buy separately in 2014, because Nintendo themselves have made up an exclusivity rule (in this case you have to buy both games) to make him more desirable and harder to get at first. That said, Nintendo have confirmed that at some point in the future (presumably late 2015) Mewtwo will be made available for everyone to download in exchange for a small fee.

Official Video: Mewtwo was confirmed by the in-game Super Smash Bros. announcer!

How To Unlock How To Unlock Lucas, Roy & Ryu

• Lucas from Mother 3 / the EarthBound series: As previously announced, Lucas is also available to purchase as a new downloadable character. Originating in the Japan-only Game Boy Advance RPG Mother 3, Lucas primarily uses lightning attacks to smash his opponents. Lucas can be purchased in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U or Nintendo 3DS for $3.99, or both game versions together for $4.99.

• Roy from Fire Emblem: A fan-favorite from his last appearance in Super Smash Bros. Melee for Nintendo GameCube, Roy from the Fire Emblem franchise returns to the series more powerful than ever before. Unlike Marth, Roy’s sword is stronger closer to the hilt, so he works better in close range. Roy also now has a Final Smash move in the form of a devastating sword blow. Roy can be purchased in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U for $3.99, or both game versions together for $4.99.

• Ryu from Street Fighter: For the first time in Super Smash Bros. history, a character from the fighting game series Street Fighter joins the battle. Iconic character Ryu, whose look in the game is based on Street Fighter II, brings a new fighting style and feel to Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. Ryu’s traditional Light, Medium and Heavy attacks can be used depending on whether players tap, press or hold the buttons. Classic Street Fighter moves like Hadoken and Shoryuken can be activated with just a one-button press, but players who enter the original button combinations from the Street Fighter series will perform the same actions with higher damage. Ryu can be purchased in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U or Nintendo 3DS for $5.99 each, or both game versions together for $6.99. Purchase includes the bonus Suzaku Castle stage from the Street Fighter series. This classic environment provides stable footing on the right side and a series of platforms on the left. It can also be played in Omega form, giving the stage a look and feel much like in the Street Fighter II original.

Official Video: During a special video presentation focused on Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, the game’s director, Masahiro Sakurai, unveiled a smashing amount of new content for the games, including two new playable characters: Ryu from the Street Fighter series and Roy from Fire Emblem. They both join Lucas from Mother 3 as new playable fighters, and are available for paid download now!

Next we’ve listed the not included characters that are rumored.

Rumored DLC Characters:

• Chorus Men (from the Rhythm Heaven/Paradise series)
• Dixie Kong (from the Donkey Kong Country series)
• Ridley (from the Metroid series)
• Snake (from the Metal Gear series)
• Wolf (from the Star Fox series)

Please comment to share which old or new Nintendo or other game studio characters you think should be added as downloadable characters???

Missing Characters from Previous SSB Games:

• Pichu (from the Pokemon series)
• Pokemon Trainer with Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard (from the Pokemon series)
• Roy (from the Fire Emblem series)
• Young Link (from The Legend of Zelda series)

Canceled Characters:

• Ice Climbers

The Reason for canceling Ice Climbers: In Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, game director Masahiro Sakurai said in his bi-weekly column that “Ice Climbers were running in the Wii U version, but due to the required hardware power, the team couldn’t make them work in the 3DS game. And there’s not as high a priority given to series that are unlikely to have another sequel at this time.”

The funny TV commercials show the main Super Smash Bros 3DS characters in action:
