You read that right! The Sims 4 Mods will be supported in-game on PC (and later Mac) from the day The Sims 4 first gets released on September 2, 2014.
Game creators Lyndsay Pearson and Darren Gyles have announced that: “The Sims 4 has been built from the ground up to allow fans to add their own Custom Content called “Mods” to the game!”
The Sims 4 will make it easier for you to add, manage or remove Custom Content. Here’s how that works…
You’ll be able to find the Mods Directory in the game’s User Data folder. This is where you can start putting your Custom Content so you don’t have to dig deep into the game files. This directory is going to make your Custom Content more manageable by keeping it from becoming too embedded within the game itself.
After launch, thesims.com website will have a Custom Content Technology Document with data formats that will help creators avoid conflict with what has been done in the game. And for fans to help each other with Mods, there will be a dedicated Modding Section on The Sims 4 Official Forums for feedback, discussion, and issues.

This is very exciting news! Full details on where to find Mods and such, will be shown right here on VGB as we get closer to launch.
