I’m extremely excited about The Evil Within, as I’m a huge Survival Horror and Resident Evil (traditional RE, that is, pre-RE4, although I also love RE4 & RE5) fan and I can’t wait to play a brand-new Japanese Survival Horror title. Because of this however, I’ve also done everything in my power to know as little as possible about this game. So when I do go into it, I will be seeing it completely new and fresh.
I am a bit worried however as I’m not a huge fan of gore, as strange as that sounds, and seeing the cover makes me nervous. I don’t want a game that’s gory and gruesome for no reason. I also hope the game isn’t full of f-bombs and dirty language, something that the Resident Evil series never had. I’m hoping for a very mature experience. The scariest horror games have always been the ones that allow the suspense to overtake you. So I’m a bit nervous.
Even still, I’m greatly looking forward to The Evil Within, and I hope this game is a huge success for Shinji’s sake!
