Nintendo recently confirmed the Super Smash Bros 3DS release date is October 3rd, 2014 in America, Canada & Europe. With Australia & the rest of the world getting the game a day later on October 4th, 2014.

Japan is actually the first country where “Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS” launches, on September 13th, 2014. Lucky them!

Super Smash Bros 3DS Release Date

During E3 2014 last month members of the Treehouse — Nintendo of America’s Product Development division — showed off newly-announced games, talk with developers and more, right from the show floor. On Day 2 they covered a demo of the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros., which arrives well before the console version, but more on that below.

The 3DS game arrives many months before the unannounced date of the Wii U version. So unless you enjoy waiting 3 to possibly 6 months (if it gets delayed into 2015; which is likely since the series creator Masahiro Sakurai always does that to fine-tune the games) then I’d recommend fans play the SSB series’ portable debut the moment it comes out in the first week of October.

As you can see from the demonstration video above, the gameplay seems really smooth and the unique stages plus cel-shaded graphics look amazing. I’m SUPER excited to battle it out on 3DS! I just got a fancy new red 3DS XL to enjoy the 3D more on games like this. 🙂
