What started out as the search for a killer very quickly becomes something so much more. In a unique story set alongside the events of the second film, Spider-Man discovers he’s not the only one tracking down Manhattan’s criminals. The underworld has been turned upside down with a one-man campaign of violence and murder that has captured the city in an iron grip of fear. Villains from the film as well as fan-favorite, classic Marvel characters are woven together in a twisted web of adrenaline-fueled, free-roaming, web-slinging action that puts players on a collision course with an evil far beyond Spider-Man’s reckoning.

Chapter 1: With Great Power…

Chapter 1 Synopsis: A flashback to the night Peter Parker learned the tragic lesson that with great power there must always come great responsibility.

Tip: A higher combo meter increases the chance to execute signature moves on enemies.

Hint: Press up on the Directional-Pad to trigger Spidey’s Spider-Sense and have a better look at your suroundings.

Chapter 2: On The Trail Of A Killer!

This chapter concludes with the Shocker Boss Fight.

Chapter 2 Synopsis: Still hunting Uncle Ben’s killer, Spider-Man discovers a possible connection to the gang war spreading like wildfire throughout New York.

The Shocker Boss Fight:

Tip: Use your Web-Pull ability to disarm enemies. It can also be used on various objects to help you defeat your enemies.

Trick: Hold the right shoulder button to enter Web Rush mode whenever you want more precision when Web Rushing.

Chapter 3: Live By The Sword…

Chapter 3 Synopsis: While doing his best to fight the gang war erupting all around him, Spider-Man closes in on Uncle Ben’s killer.

Tip: Accomplishing heroic deeds will improve Spider-Man’s reputation and provide bonuses to the capabilities of his suit. Let crime grow rampant, however, and The Daily Bugle’s J. Jonah Jameson won’t hesitate to destroy Spider-Man’s public image. Heroic events will appear now and then in the city. After a while, each event will enter a critical stage, and from that point on you will have to hurry to reach it — or else, Spidey will be held accountable for his in-action!

Note: You can web-shoot Daily Bugle posters on telephone booths to hide the bad press on Spidey, which will increase his reputation.

Chapter 4: Raid On Oscorp

Chapter 4 Synopsis: Two rival mobs seeking experimental tech have seized Oscorp Tower. Spider-Man must rescue the hostages while keeping the deadly weapons out of the criminals’ hands.

Tip: You can rappel from the ceiling or from a ledge by pressing down on the left analog stick.

Hint: Press down on the right analog stick to use your camera and take nice pictures.

Chapter 5: Day Of The Hunter!

Chapter 5 Synopsis: As the police create a new Task Force to crack down on violent crime, Spider-Man meets a mysterious figure: Kraven the Hunter. Is he friend or foe?

Tip: Try to time your button press with the impact of the attack to trigger critical hits.

Upgrade Note: Collecting tech pieces will help you upgrade Spider-Man’s abilities. And by (for example) finishing a chapter the game will usually give you 1500 points to spend on those newly unlocked abilities. You can further increase the effectiveness of the suit worn by Spidey by gaining XP points in combat.
So remember to check the “Upgrades” menu once in a while to improve Spider-Man’s abilities.
