Lego The Hobbit Glitches

Here are some of the newly discovered Lego The Hobbit glitches.

Note that these can of course get patched by Traveller’s Tales Games at any time (although they have a bad habit of rarely fixing issues). But you might encounter the here-under listed glitches for yourself in the meantime.

Lego The Hobbit Glitches

Play As A Hawk Glitch

Location: In the Middle-earth Hub.

Glitch Description: In the open world area the game can accidentally let you play as the hawk who flies you from place to place on the map. How to trigger it? If you’re using fast travel on the map, immediately when the hawk starts going up in the air hold the Y button on Xbox / Triangle button on PlayStation / X button on Wii U to change characters… at which point you’ll die and come down to the ground to find you’re turned into the Hawk with Bilbo still in his talons! 😀

The solution: The obvious fix for this glitch is to quit the game from the pause menu and restart the savefile you’re in.

Guide Studs Glitch

Location: Go to multiple places on the map.

Glitch Description: For example, when attempting to go to Laketown, the guide studs can lead you to some place you don’t know, in this case with no way to get out of the boat in the direction the game is pointing you.

The solution: Turn off the previous waypoint before setting your next fast travel waypoint on the map, otherwise the guide studs will mess up where to go.

Plate Thrown Off-screen Glitch

Location: On “That’s What Bilbo Baggins Hates”.

Glitch Description: When you get through the first few sets of dwarves, then when the plate is thrown to the last set of dwarves it is thrown off-screen and you cannot continue. Not even restarting the level or the entire game helps, and trying it with a 2nd player doesn’t stop the glitch from happening either.

The solution: Change the screen resolution to something smaller. For example on a laptop you can change the screen resolution from native 1680x… to 1024x… which will give you a little bit of a “black border” during the game, but the plate will not fly off the screen anymore!
