How To Call In Air Support

The game has unique second-screen elements, via the free Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes iDROID app, which allows you to sync maps, summon air support (it serves as a support terminal for calling in support helicopters!) and listen to the game’s music & found cassettes (found while exploring Camp Omega) on a linked iOS, Android or Smart Glass system.

As such, the iDROID app acts as Big Boss’ in-game comm system and map. Through the iDROID Mode the app connects with the Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes main game to show the in-game map as you play, like a car navigation system in the palm of your hand. But of course the best bonus is that it enables you to summon air support at any given time. Now that should come in handy!

Tip: This mode requires a WiFi environment to connect to your game console. For more information, please refer to the “HOW TO CONNECT” menu within the app.

How To Unlock Special Troops & Weapons

Outside of these iDROID Mode & Cassette Tapes Mode of the above-mentioned iDROID app, there’s also the Mother Base Mode.

It allows you to use your mobile device (away from the game) to build up your very own Mother Base in this stand-alone mode that can be played with just this app. Of course, there is even more fun in store if you play it in conjunction with the main game.

– Expand Mother Base, build a private army, and dispatch troops to battlefields around the globe. Manage your forces and build your military might in this military base building simulation.
– Play as a stand-alone app, or sync with with Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes to unlock special troops and weapons obtained from within the main game!
