Lightning Returns Achievements Guide

1. Deliverer of Salvation (15G) — Proof of clearing 5 side quests. It is a fine beginning, but the journey is still long.

Tip: You can get this Luxerion before finding all the hidden numbers in Main Quest 1-2.
You can pick up quests from people – they will have a blue star by their dialog box if they have a quest for you. (The Canvas of Prayer quest does not seem to count towards this.) Two quests are received in the first area – Withered Faith given by the Inquisitor and Where Are You, Holmes? given by Thorton. Some time later while finding hidden numbers you can go to The Residences district to find 3 more quests. 1 Dying Wish – Blythe who is sitting on some stairs near the Commercial/Residences border. 2 Suspicious Spheres – Virgil who is on the far Western Edge of the section. 3 Faster Than Lightning – Lamont (little boy with a flag on his back). There are more quests, but they will require some searching and waiting to complete due to time restrictions.

2. Angel of Salvation (30G) — Proof of clearing 25 side quests. It is a great feat to lead so many souls to salvation.

3. Seed Collector (30G) — Proof of a brave warrior who has managed to claim 50 soul seeds from the Chaos.

4. Perfect Passenger (15G) — Proof of riding upon all of the great monorail lines that cross this shrinking world.

6. A Helping Hand (15G) — Proof of clearing 25 quests that have appeared writ on the Canvas of Prayers.

7. Novice Swordsmith (10G) — Proof of improving your first weapon. Did you make something worthy?

8. Novice Shieldsmith (10G) — Proof of improving your first shield. Use it wisely to guard yourself.

9. Novice Synthesist (10G) — Proof of synthesizing your first ability. Did it prove useful?

Tip: You can do this by finding a Sorcery Shop and following the introductory Tutorial steps to the end. The first Sorcery Shop can be found after speaking to the Inquisitor and opening the gates. Go through the Eastern gate and the shop is located in the Old Town across from the singing man with a guitar.

10. Novice Craftsman (10G) — Proof of upgrading your first accessory. Did you find the experience thrilling?

11. Novice Stylist (10G) — Proof of customizing your first schema. Continue on this path to find your own style.

On “The Ark” Mission, when you’re standing in the white circular room with the computer, walk around to pick up the white treasure boxes. One of the treasures will give you a “Mist Wizard” item, which will trigger the Customizing Schemata Tutorial. Follow all of the tutorial’s steps to unlock it.

12. Novice Artist (10G) — Proof of customizing the color of one of your garb. Let your true colors shine through.

Go to the Main Menu and select Customize Schemata to adjust any Main Schema. To adjust the color of your Main Schema garb, press on the Square button on PS3 / X button on Xbox 360 to “Edit garb color”. Then go down to Set Colors and switch from the Default color to any Custom palette at the Parts List section’s color wheel.

22. Seeing Stars (15G) — Proof of staggering enemies 50 times with fearsome attacks. Do not ever let them rest!

On “The Ark” Mission, when you’re standing in the white circular room with the computer, walk around to examine the bookshelf to pick up the Book of Conquests, which allows you to replay battles against previously defeated foes. In this case you’ll want to fight the Zaltys boss again. Zaltys is weak against Mist Wizard & Dark Muse blizzard as well as The Savior attack magic. Then when staggers once, keep attacking him with normal attacks until he falls on the ground/goes through his knees and STOP attacking him, so that he can stagger again when he gets up and your magic battle continues. So use that magic a lot to defeat him within 2 minutes!

23. Miracle of Light (10G) — Proof of one who has used 50 EP.

On “The Ark” Mission, when you’re standing in the white circular room with the computer, walk around to examine the bookshelf to pick up the Book of Conquests, which allows you to replay battles against previously defeated foes. In this case you’ll want to fight the Zaltys boss again. Press the L2 shoulder button on PS3 / LT shoulder button on Xbox 360 to trigger “Overclock 2 EP”. Keep using magic attacks (described in the “Seeing Stars” section above) until Zaltys gets staggered and then immediately go into Overlock (to maximize damage) and start using your regular attacks with your Dark Muse schema first until you run out of Overlock. Then immediately Overclock again and start using your regular attacks with your The Savior schema this second time. When Zaltys dies, go back into battle to fight him again until “Miracle of Light” unlocks.

24. Perfect Timing (15G) — Proof of successfully guarding against an enemy’s attack with perfect timing.

This is a detailed guide designed to help you get the perfect timing down.
