* 170 Green Stars are required to unlock the World 8 (Bowser World) final boss fight level.

How to find missing Green Stars?: In-game the Green Stars will appear simply as sparkling bright-green colored stars spread throughout the game’s levels. You can pick them up to collect them by walking / jumping / flying / pipe-traveling / skiing (you get the idea) over the Green Star and touching it. They can be confirmed as being Green Stars, as the on-screen Green Star counter at the top-left part of your screen will fill out an empty slot for that level with a the new Green Star.
Does the game save each Green Stars you collect?: Yes, at the end of each level the game will automatically save the Green Stars you just collected.
