Valley 1

Welcome to the State of Decay Breakdown walkthrough! The developers of the game will be your voice-over commentators showing you around the game’s first level for an hour.

The Breakdown DLC adds a “Sandbox Mode” to State of Decay. In this mode you will lead a group of survivors in repairing an RV, which can then be used to escape the valley.

Tip: The RV spawns at random locations throughout the map, so keep in mind you’ll have to go looking for it in each Valley you play, even if you replay the same Valley.

Hint: Your difficulty level (1 to 10) — that you select before you begin playing Breakdown — determines how dense and dangerous the zombies can get. The higher your difficulty level, the larger your Score Multiplier becomes. Keep in mind that on the higher difficulty levels you’ll have to use stealth (like moving into a bush while crouched to hide completely) to make your way around the map, combined with using distractions to keep the zombies off your back. It’s the only way to survive the zombie hordes.

Note: Even the creators of the game say they can’t make it past the 8th Valley. There are 10 Valleys in total.
