Call of Duty Ghosts DLC Announced

With the launch of Call of Duty: Ghosts, Activision announced its clarified Call of Duty Ghosts DLC plans.

Like with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, we’ll be getting a Season Pass that’s good for 4 content updates spread out over 8 months in 2014! The Hardened & Prestige Editions of the game also include the Season Pass.

The official Call of Duty: Ghosts – Season Pass description reads:

The Call of Duty: Ghosts Season Pass is your access to four epic Map Packs in 2014 at one great price*. Plus, when you purchase the Season Pass, receive the bonus Team Leader Digital Pack, containing a unique Multiplayer character head, weapon camo, reticle, player patch, player card and player background – unlocked in-game at game launch. Once available, download content from the in-game store. Season Pass includes access to all Season Pass DLC for your system of choice — be it the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 or PC system — if purchased and activated by 5/31/2014. Release dates may vary by platform.”

*Price clarification: Save $10 vs buying all map packs ala carte. The $10 discount is based on the Season Pass suggested retail price of $49.99 USD.

Update – Possible multiplayer map names for the first 2 Map Packs are:
* Swamp
* Battery
* Rumble
* Dome
* Boneyard
* Gaza
* Comp
* Red river
* Battery

Like previous years, Microsoft has bought a timed exclusive on the Call of Duty DLC for the Xbox platforms, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. This means that when the first DLC comes out in January 2014, it will be exclusively available on the Xbox 360 & Xbox One for one month, and then it will get released on PS3, PS4 & presumably PC. Expect these content drops to happen around every two months.

PS: You read it right, because Activision simply does not say anything about the Season Pass on Wii U, it’s safe to assume that will never happen. Why? Because the “planned” Black Ops 2 never appeared on the eShop either.

Will you be buying the Call of Duty Ghosts DLC per Map Pack or via all-in-one Season Pass?
