Sony/Screen Gems has confirmed the Resident Evil 6 movie release date is Thursday, September 12th, 2014.
The sixth Resident Evil movie will be the last movie of the second Trilogy of films, according to movie director Paul W.S. Anderson. Which is not to say it will be the last Resident Evil movie made by him, since he seems to enjoy working with his wife Milla Jovovich who plays the star character Alice. The pair will most likely start shooting the new film in Fall 2013.
The fifth movie, Resident Evil: Retribution, has grossed US$221 million at the boxoffice worldwide! In fact, each movie in the series has performed better than the last.
No story details have been revealed for Resident Evil 6, but Resident Evil: Retribution ended with a cliffhanger as Alice and her new-found friend were getting ready to the defend humanity in their last stand at the White House, against untold hordes of zombies. Intense firefights will no doubt ensue!
