Chapter 10: Stains of Heresy

The Ivory Citadel

This dungeon chapter begins with Death restoring the Rod of Arafel and placing it in the hands of Archon, who clears the darkness that blocks your path into the Ivory Citadel; not to mention cleaning the entire realm of corruption wherever its light shines. Death hitches a ride on an angelic beast summoned by Archon in order to reach the floating citadel. Once there, lots of Voidwalker portal puzzles to do to clear the way with light towards the Scribe.

Portal Puzzles & Boss Fight: Jamaerah the Scribe

Now you’re playing with Portals, as you make your way to the Scribe.

Here’s the Boss Battle with Jamaerah the Scribe, on Apocalyptic difficulty mode.

How to beat the Jamaerah the Scribe Boss Fight tips:
Straightforward run-and-gun fight. Steer clear of his heavy-hitting tentacle arm and keep pouncing on him.
After he’s damaged close to death, he calls forth some corrupted angels to fight you. He’ll start floating around the area and shooting his laser at you from a distance.
Now you must use portals to defeat him. Place one portal right below the floating Scribe in the center of the area, and place the second portal on the second floor/row of portal placements on equal height to the floating Scribe. All that’s left for you to do now is wait for him to shoot his yellow laser and lure him to shoot the ray towards the bottom portal as you stand beside it.

The Crystal Spire & Boss Fight: Archon

Oh noes! Archon is corrupted! Here’s the Boss Battle with Archon, on Apocalyptic difficulty mode.

How to beat the Archon Boss Fight tips:
This is the fifth story related boss fight and it cannot be missed.
Archon is the endboss of the “Stains of Heresy” main quest.
The best tactic for this fight is to summon Ghouls. Fully upgrade all skills that improve your Ghouls. You can reset your skill points for a small fee of 1000 Gold by buying the Respec token from Vulgrim (the demon merchant, he is marked on the map as “General Items” and can be found at the Weeping Crag, north-east of the Forge). Use your pistol whenever you can. It doesn’t do much damage, but it will restore a lot of wrath that can be used to summon new Ghouls.
Once Archon starts floating you have to change your strategy. A fast way to bring him down is the crow attack (Murder skill from the Necromancer skill tree). Summon your crows when Archon’s shield is deactivated and shoot him with your pistol when he smashes down to the ground. After ripping off his wings you can keep summoning your Ghouls. Just stay away from him, dodge his attacks and let the Ghouls do the rest. Keep using your pistol for new wrath points or use wrath potions to speed up the process. – Kudos to Powerpyx for these tips

After Archon is defeated, you get the first key, this holy Angel Key will grant you entrance into the Well of Souls. Next, you must return to the Crowfather via fast travel to the Tree of Life.

Chapter 11: The Mad Queen

Shadow’s Edge

Death has the Angel Key, and now needs to find the Demon Key in Shadow’s Edge. It’s the demon’s equivalent of the Crystal Spire ruled by The Mad Queen, Lilith. Let’s go and find her for she gives us the Phasewalker: An enhanced version of the Voidwalker, which can now tear a void in the present and the past, allowing for time travel.
If she sounds familiar, there’s a reason for that. She’s mother to the entire Nephilim race by mixing angel & demon dust to form them.

Chapter 12: The Lord of the Black Stone

The Black Stone & Boss Fight: Samael

Find Samael, who holds the Demon Key. Together the Angel & Demon Keys will let Death into the Well of Souls in order to save his brother, War, from oblivion.

Exploring The Black Stone dungeon, home of Samael, solving the puzzles using the Phasewalker. Confrontation with Samael at the end, on Apocalyptic difficulty.

How to beat the Samael Boss Fight tips:
This is the sixth story related boss fight and it cannot be missed.
Samael is the endboss of the “Lord of the Black Stone” main quest.
While your Ghouls fight Samael you can attack from behind.
The only dangerous part on Apocalyptic difficulty is the end when lava fountains come out of the ground. It’s hard not to get hit here and the fountains cause quite some damage. Be ready to use a health potion if you get hit or go into Reaper mode for reduced health loss. – Thanks to Powerpyx for the tips

After defeating Samael he’ll give you the demonic key that grants you entrance to The Well of Souls. Next, access your overworld map and fast travel back to the Tree of Death to continue to The Well of Souls.
