Sleeping Dogs 2 Possible!

Developer United Front Games would like to make Sleeping Dogs 2 if fans are happy with the first game. The developer said this after publisher Square Enix hinted Sleeping Dogs could be turned into a franchise if the first game does well critically and financially.

This news is not surprising, since it was originally in development at Activision as the third game in the True Crime series, until it was canceled and Square Enix bought the rights to the game under a new name.

To quote Sleeping Dogs producer Dan Sochan:

“Square Enix clearly believe in Sleeping Dogs. I mean they’ve talked about it possibly becoming a franchise for them.” -Sleeping Dogs producer

“[Square Enix] clearly believe in it. I mean they’ve talked about it possibly becoming a franchise for them. [...] I think that they’ve helped establish this game’s identity, and helped to differentiate between the large number of other open-world games out there, so we’re not just going to be buried by the large number of sequel titles coming out later this year.

So there are elements they’ve brought in to try and ensure a long tail, that there are reasons to come back to the game even after you’ve finished the main story, and maybe put us in a position where we can make a sequel if the game does well.

I think that there are a lot of different ways in terms of where we could take the series. Right now we ‘re hoping that the fans continue to show excitement for the product. More than anything else, though, we want feedback. We don’t just want to say ‘Ok…this is how we see a Sleeping Dogs 2 going’.

We want to hear what gamers think, what aspects of the game they enjoyed the most, we want them to be able to go ‘If you do a sequel, you should totally do this…’ and so on. So of course we’ve considered it, and we’ll have to see how Sleeping Dogs does, but this is new ground for us and so we really want to make sure that the fans are happy.”

I think one of the most requested addition to Sleeping Dogs 2 will be for the developer to flesh out the relationships element of the game beyond one short date. What do you think?

Continue the story about his involvement in the gangs.Maybe online co-op, and if they’re gonna put him back in the states, make it a DLC, not a sequel.

sd was an amazing game ans I hope there will be a second one. I really hope that sd2 stays in China but also have different gangs from other places in Asia join in. also keep wei shen as the main character also make it that u have more choices like with gf and stuff. one important thing is don’t make it like gta. keep it in Hong Kong/China

I love sleeping dogs, I think wei shen is a solid character and should definitely be kept for any possible sequels. I personally feel like this game gave an experience that grand theft auto could never really provide even though that is a great series. With that being said sleeping dogs is my favorite open world game. I anticipate seeing a sequel and look for changes like better dating missions and a new awesome location like Tokyo Japan perhaps. I absolutely loved this game! Once I got it I played it non-stop. Once I beat it, I immediately downloaded some of the dl content and it was pretty good, but definitely want a Sleeping Dogs 2. I would like the story line to be longer. The game just felt too short! That’s how good it was.

Great Great game, they should make a second one with Wei Shen in Hong Kong or Japan

The setting should stay in Hong Kong but adding more authenticity to it would be great e.g tourist sites the mrt or train transit. Better graphics would help and yeah aircrafts and jets so you can fly over skyscrapers and downtown Hong Kong , more better and rare cars should be shown, car should be customizable, our character should be customizable from hairstyle to clothes to body/physic e.g bodybuilding or going to gym = muscles ad if eating a lot= fat and yeah homes, businesses should be available to buy like in gta….more clubs and restaurants where our guy could enjoy eating and dancing and meeting new people ..,, airport should be there so that our character could buy a ticket and go off to other cities probably San Francisco etc. there should be a selection of choosing girlfriends and or wife our character should have the choice of being loyal or cheating on his wife or partner …Internet should be available for Wei so that he could date gorgeous women of his age of any nationality besides Asian chicks, better gun but more improvement in combat / martial arts …Kung fu is bland there should be a vast openness of other clubs for our character like Muay Thai, bhi, wrestling, etc…,our guy should be able to play and do activities like gym , tennis, soccer etc ….pets should be added and so can kids and babies …jut like the sims our characters could have sex and have babies……and yeah online multiplayer should be added better graphics too ….overall the game is good and the developers should really make sleeping dogs 2
