Why Is Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection Missing Budokai 2?

When Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection was announced, Namco Bandai Games said the enhanced and re-mastered HD versions included in the set would only be DBZ Budokai 1 & 3. Leaving many fans, yours truely included, to wonder: “Why is Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection missing Budokai 2?

At Comic-Con 2012, during a Gamespot live stage demo, right after the game was confirmed that exact question was asked. And here’s the answer they got from Namco Bandai’s senior global brand manager Jason Ends.

To quote: “Well, the overall Budokai series is one of the best. So, I mean, the fans love it. Even from critical acclaim it’s one of the most popular [DBZ game series].
