New Assassin’s Creed 3 Co-Op Mode Called Wolfpack

At Comic-Con 2012 Ubisoft sneaked in a surprise announcement for Assassin’s Creed 3, namely a new co-op multiplayer mode called Wolfpack.

The new co-op mode lets between two to four players to team up online and join up in “sequence based” waves of assassination missions. The kind of wave-based gameplay that Gears of War 2 invented as Horde Mode, which challenges teams of players to try to fight as long as possible against waves of enemy forces of ever-increasing strength.

Assassin’s Creed 3 will have “25 sequences” that become more difficult as you progress and have stricter time constraints, as well as promising “resilient AI including lookouts and decoys.” This means they’ll run if your kills are to public. In other words, you’ll have to carefully coordinate your stealth kills with your team mates to win!

Here’s a video interview with Assassin’s Creed 3’s multiplayer game director Damien Kieken, who gives all the details on the game’s new co-op mode.
