Sonic Adventure 2 HD Announced for PSN & XBLA

Sega has officially announced Sonic Adventure 2 is getting a HD port on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at the Sonic Boom event in San Diego. It’ll be a downloadable title on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. The game will be released on October 3rd, 2012.

Outside of getting HD graphics, new features include widescreen, offline multiplayer, content downloads, and online leaderboards.

Here’s the Sonic Boom 2012 Sonic Adventure 2 announcement.

Wow, apparently Sonic fans are really SUPER excited about it! I loved Sonic Adventure 2 on GameCube, so it’ll be nice to get a port of Sega’s Dreamcast Collection in HD.

Xbox.com also leaked the game’s description:

“In the fight between heroes and villains, will you choose to save the world or conquer it? The hunt for the Chaos Emeralds is on and battle lines have been drawn between Hero and Dark. Experience two unique adventures featuring both long-time heroes and new and returning villains as they battle for the fate of the world! Sonic Adventure 2 makes its return on Xbox Live Arcade with a full cast of playable heroes and villains, exciting two-player competitive modes, Chao Gardens, and more than 30 action-packed stages, all remastered in HD!”

The previous Sega Dreamcast Collection games did make it to PC via Steam, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see that happening again.
