JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle Announced for PS3

Namco Bandai Games in Japan has announced a JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle fighting game exclusively for PlayStation 3. Amazingly the game is being developed by CyberConnect2, the studio behind the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm series and Asura’s Wrath!

Here’s a plot description of the manga (Parts 1 to 7) the game’s based on. A rough translation reads: “Kujo Jotaro is a normal, popular Japanese high-schooler, until he thinks that he is possessed by a spirit, and locks himself in prison. After seeing his grandfather, Joseph Joestar, and fighting Joseph’s friend Muhammad Abdul, Jotaro learns that the “Spirit” is actually Star Platinum, his Stand, or fighting energy given a semi-solid form. Later, his mother gains a Stand, and becomes sick. Jotaro learns that it is because the vampire Dio Brando has been revived 100 years after his defeat to Jonathan Joestar, Jotaro’s great-great-grandfather. Jotaro decides to join Joseph and Abdul in a trip to Egypt to defeat Dio once and for all.”

It’s good to know there’s a chance this gets released in English outside Japan. I say there’s a chance, since another PS3-exclusive cel-shaded fighting game from Namco Bandai, One Piece: Pirate Warriors, is getting a digital download release in America & Europe later this year.

Comic-Con 2012 Update: Capcom has confirmed they will be releasing the HD arcade fighting game for $20 to PSN and XBLA on August 21 and August 22, respectively!
