Question: How do you continue the game if you (saved and) quit in the middle of a level? It doesn’t show up in the level selector and replaying the previous level doesn’t help.
Answer 1: If you have a save and exit problem, follow the translucent blue ghost studs around gotham till it flips to a mini-movie. – Thanks to Austin for the tip.
Answer 2: Here’s a handy tip for continuing Story Mode again:
Go back to Arkham Asylum and re-enter the level from there. Go in the front door which brings you out the back and Commissioner Gordon is there to talk to and in turn restart the level.
Here’s how to get to Arkham Asylum: Go to the amusement park and grab a vehicle… take the first path to the right and follow it around to the Asylum. At the Asylum, get out of the vehicle and there will be other characters there, and then the game will give you the option to press the B / Action button and launches you right back into the story. Note that this will start the whole level all over again. – Thanks to Allison & Lloydy for the tip.
Question: How do you find the next level in Story Mode? In some cases it isn’t obvious where to enter the next level from the hub.
Answer 1: You can find the next level by chasing the flashing bat signal on your compass / map. – Thanks to Joel for the tip.
Answer 2: Every level in our Lego Batman 2 walkthrough will soon have a video guide with voice-over commentary by Doug. He will start each video by showing you exactly how to enter and start playing the level you may be having a difficult time finding.
Question: How to get into free play mode? I’ve completed the story but now I cannot figure out how to get back into the levels.
Answer: You access them from the bat computer in the Batcave. – Thanks to Darthy for the hint.
Question: After completing the Story Mode, is there a way to go back through the game as the villains like in the first Lego Batman game?
Answer: Unless you are doing Free Play Mode and just picking villains as your characters – No there isn’t. – Thanks for the tip George.
Question: How do you get out of the Batcave?
Answer: On the platform splitting off three different ways. Go on the middle path and then pass the waterfall (in front of the computer). What happens is a big metal bat will split open the waterfall, revealing a path outside. And if that doesn’t work, you just need to get into a vehicle and the gate beyond the waterfall will open up. – Thanks for the tip Joe.
Question: How do you save your progress after beating the Story Mode? When you quit the game will say all progress will be lost.
Answer: You can always go to the Batcave computer to save your progress.
Saving Glitch Question: Why isn’t save and exit working in free play mode? If I found everything I never had to finish a level in other Lego games. I am losing the studs, minikits and CIP found in Free Play when I exit a level after a checkpoint without finishing the level completely. (happened on Xbox 360 version)
Answer: If you find the minikit and Saved and Exited a Level in Free Play at the checkpoint where they were climbing out. Then the bat computer still shows (for example) 9/10 minikits. When you go back into the Level, which started at the checkpoint, it shows 10/10 minikits found, so you naturally finish the full Level but the bat computer will still show only 9/10 minikits found.
To solve this glicht, you have to play through the entire level from the start to get all collectibles to save. In the example’s case, luckily restarting at the beginning of the level does make the last minikit available.
Andrea contacted the game’s publisher Warner Bros. and their comment was “There is no plan to fix the problem.” So restarting the entire level is the only solution to save your progress. – Thanks for the tip AndreaP.
Freezing Glitch Question: What to do when the game locks up on you? I just went past the second checkpoint of the long Level 9: Research and Development. As I walked through the door Superman opened, the game screen froze. (happened on Xbox 360 version)
Answer: Restart your game system after it freezes and you’ll be able to start the Level over. You can’t continue from the last save point, but that’s a small price to pay, since luckily the restart can be done without having to restart the entire game from Level 1. – Thanks for the tip AndreaP.
