New Nintendo downloads this week in America and Europe. The games go live on Thursdays in America at 9AM Pacific time and in Europe at 5PM UK/GMT time.

Nintendo has now added new/classic games to the Wii Shop Channel, Nintendo DSi Shop and Nintendo 3DS eShop. Users with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points or Nintendo DSi Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel. Nintendo DSi Points can be purchased in the Nintendo DSi Shop. While the Nintendo eShop is a cash-based service, where virtual wallets are added to using a credit card or by purchasing a Nintendo 3DS Prepaid Card at a retail store and entering the code from the card. A Nintendo Points Card can be purchased at retail locations or Amazon.com.

American Nintendo Downloads

Nintendo WiiWare:

• Monster World IV (Wii Virtual Console / SEGA Genesis, 600 Wii Points)
Description: For the first time outside of Japan, experience the final chapter in the classic Monster World series! The game is set many years after Shion’s adventures in Wonder Boy in Monster Land (also released on Wii Virtual Console today). As Asha, a young adventurer, set forth into Monster World and defeat evil alongside your amorphous pet Pepe and a magical Genie, in order to save the troubled Elemental Spirits!

Note: This is the first time this series is released outside of Japan. SEGA has officially translated this downloadable game into English!

• Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Wii Virtual Console / Arcade, 900 Wii Points)
Description: The game is the sequel to the 1986′s Wonder Boy (also available on the Wii Virtual Console). The once beautiful kingdom has been thrown into chaos by a ferocious fire-breathing dragon and his monstrous henchmen, whose aim is to create their own Monster Land. Unable to defend themselves from the onslaught, the people cry out for a hero to save them! As Wonder Boy, set out on an incredible journey across different environments and dungeons, collect powerful weapons and spells, and rid the land of evil!

Note: This is the first time this game is released outside of Japan. SEGA has officially translated this downloadable game into English!

Nintendo 3DS eShop:

• Sudoku by Nikoli (3DSWare, $5)
Description: “Sudoku by Nikoli” contains 50 sudoku puzzles. Sudoku is a puzzle in which you place numbers from 1 to 9 into a 9×9 grid, divided into horizontal and vertical lines and 3×3 blocks, filling up all of the spaces with the numbers. With everything from simple puzzles to super-difficult ones, this game is popular with a wide range of players, from beginners to veterans. To ensure your long-term enjoyment, we’ve prepared both a “Stage Clear” mode and a “Random” mode. In “Stage Clear” mode, you progress by clearing puzzles one by one, and in “Random” mode puzzles are generated at random. Please enjoy this high-quality sudoku game. • Paul’s Shooting Adventure 2 (500 DSi Points / $5)
Description: Paul and his twin brother join forces to smash the Insectians in this explosive sequel. The player controls Paul and his brother, twins of a super hero family who were born with innate super powers. The two brothers have the ability to take flight and attack with powerful projectile energy. However, most importantly, they are both gifted with the ability to take the form and seize the weaponry from fallen enemies.

• Sonic Labyrinth (3DS Virtual Console / SEGA Game Gear, £4.50 / €5)
Description: Dr. Robotnik has created a world of 3D mazes, into which he has thrown Sonic and added a whole new dimension to his life! Now the Dude with Attitude can spin dash in every direction – collecting keys to access hidden levels and bonus rooms as he never could before. Can you help guide Sonic through the maze and past the all-new clan of evil Bosses to defeat the damnable Doctor?

• Curling Super Championship (500 DSi Points / £4.50 / €5)
Description: Curling is the world famous sport in which players slide stones across a sheet of ice toward a target area, the “house”. Two teams, each of four players, take turns sliding heavy stones, also called “rocks”. You can challenge your friends to a multiplayer game to show everyone who the best player is!

Considering that Sega’s also behind the Sega console’s Street Fighter II online version on the Wii Virtual Console, it’s safe to say Sega are absolutely FANTASTIC at supporting 3DS & Wii classic games. Bravo, BRAVO Sega! *claps hands*
