Halo 4 New Cortana Design Revealed

Game Informer magazine’s May Issue promises a host of exclusive Halo 4 info when it hits stores April 10th. For now, they’ve revealed official artwork that’s printed on the back of the magazine: A brand new Cortana design for Halo 4!

To quote GI: “343 Industries also shared a wealth of in-game screenshots and concept art revealing new locations within the Halo universe.

Now, get a glimpse of the new look for Halo’s longtime character, Cortana, revealed on our back cover for the first time.”

Click the thumbnails below to be taken to the full-size image gallery of all four Cortana character models. You’ll see the progression from her A.I./voice/body modeling after a young Dr. Halsey to her incarnations across the Halo 1-4 games.

Looks aside, one thing that has stayed the same is Cortana’s voice. American voice actress Jen Taylor voices her in all Halo games and will return in Halo 4. Here are some outtakes from Halo 2, where at the end of the video you can see the in-game result.

I don’t see what is any different. Apart from the fact that she’s no longer transparent, she hasn’t changed that much. I am quite interested in the changes to master cheifs personality on the other hand…

That’s an interesting resemblance you found there Beave! Apparently Bungie originally modelled Cortana after the Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, but it’s unclear if 343 Industries’ designers have their own ideas as they evolve her, or if she goes rampant, devolve her heh.
