Sega x Capcom x Namco Bandai Mystery Project Countdown

Namco Bandai Games’s website has started a countdown to next week Wednesday for its mysterious Nintendo 3DS collaborative mystery project with Sega and Capcom! The Banpresto logo also appears on the teaser site, they are a Japanese toy & games company (of Super Robot Wars fame) owned by Namco Bandai. Make of that what you will.

The 3DS-exclusive game is tentatively titled “Sega x Capcom x Namco Bandai“, which hints it may be a portable fighting / crossover game with playable characters from all three major game developers.

Nintendo’s CEO Satoru Iwata actually mentioned this mystery 3DS game back in February’s Nintendo Direct broadcast, as part of the future lineup of Wii and 3DS games (such as New Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Age / Training for 3DS).

According to Andriasang, at the time the official Nintendo Direct website was updated with “blobs of pixels that many referred to as chromosomes. The general belief was that the pixel blobs represented characters.” These include familiar faces from series such as Mega Man, Street Fighter, Tekken, Devil May Cry, .HACK, etc.

I am glad that Bastu and Ken are going to be in this game and I hope for some sonic charters to be in this game.

I like the idea of a portable cross-over fighting game but it seems to me like it could be a RPG.

I dont think this is going to be a portable fighting game, but thats just me. This is my belief because if you loo at the characters (Or so we can guess, but i think everyone nailed it), alot of these characters are from RPG games that are not fighting games. This seems like it sticks out like a sore thumb to be, only due to the fact that characters back in Capcom X Namco (such as arthur, ryu, and some other characters in the game) were reduced to turn based combat. I may be wrong, and i hope i am. I would LOVE to see this as a fighting game adn THIS is my new NUMBER ONE reason for getting a 3DS.
