Xbox 360 Chrome Controllers Announced

Microsoft has announced the brand new and very SHINY “Xbox 360 Special Edition Chrome Series Wireless Controllers”. They’ll be available in the colors Blue, Red and Silver, and the controllers also feature the transforming D-pad.

The controllers will have an estimated retail price of US $54.99 each and will be available in stores around mid-May, 2012.

Color availability will vary by region, so please check your local retailer for specific information or visit the Xbox.com Chrome Controllers Page for more details.

If I didn’t already have four controllers, I’d be all over that bright red controller!! But as it stands, I’ve got two white controllers from my defunct Xbox 360, and two black controllers from my Xbox 360 Elite. Still, that chrome red one looks sooo good!

Hehe. It’s the chrome dude, that’s what throws the scouter off, it’s just too shiny to measure normally.

I’m glad it’s a “Special Edition” controller, and not a “Limited Edition” so they should be available in stores for a long time. I’m quite tempted to pick one of these up for my main controller, as I don’t have any with the improved D-pad yet.
