Harmonix has announced Rock Band Blitz for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. It’s meant as a “fast, loud, silly, over-the-top, bright, fun and quick” arcade single-player game. It has controller-based gameplay where you control all instruments, like the gameplay seen in Harmonix’s first two PS2 games Frequency and Amplitude.
Rock Band Blitz will be released sometime this summer, and includes 25 new songs, which will also be playable in Rock Band 3 if you prefer playing with peripherals. Rock Band Blitz will actually have access to the entire Rock Band DLC library available in the online music store. So you’ll have choice of another 3,700+ songs to play in Rock Band Blitz!
