Get a behind the scenes look at the making of the new PlayStation ad “The World Is In Play” for PS Vita.
Today is a very exciting day for PlayStation fans. The PlayStation Vita, Sony’s next generation handheld gaming device, is now officially available in North America, Europe, Latin America, Australasia, the Middle East, and Africa, pretty much in most countries outside of Japan (where it first came out two months ago). Sony celebrated the occasion from coast to coast last night, kicking off at a midnight event in New York where over 1,000 members of the PlayStation Nation came to get their PS Vita units.
Take a look at President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America, Jack Tretton, handing out PS Vita’s to buyers like a proud papa.
Guy Longworth, the senior vice president of PlayStation brand marketing, has confirmed that Sony sold out of its First Edition Vita Bundles. These were available for pre-order before the system’s launch today. It’ll be interesting to see if the Vita can keep up its momentum post-launch, a regular stream of new games should do the trick. Talking about games…
The best-selling game at launch for the new handheld was: Uncharted: Golden Abyss! Other favorites include: Little Deviants, Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational, and ModNation Racers: Road Trip.
