Mass Effect 3 Walkthrough

Chapter 5: Sur’Kesh

Earth is now ground zero in a war to stop the Reaper invasion. To succeed, you will need to rally the forces of the galaxy and launch a counteroffensive. Shepard travels to an alien home world to seek their assistance in the war effort.

Before they will help with the war effort, the krogan have demanded a cure for the genophage, the sterility plague infecting their species. Go to the salarian homeworld of Sur’Kesh and safely extract the krogan females who hold the key to the genophage cure.

The next section features an action-packed level that takes the main storyline further. The two races are locked in a bitter war – the Salarians & Krogans – and Shepard must escort the key to resolving this conflict to safety. However, the extremist group – Cerberus – is aware of your plans and is moving to stop you on the Salarian homeworld of Sur’Kesh…

Nice to see Mordin Solus is back again.

An Achievement / Trophy called “World Shaker” is unlocked in this last half of the mission when you destroy an Atlas mech dropped from orbit.

The next two parts don’t relate to this mission, but they do wrap up a few side-missions. Such as:
– Working with our team onboard the Normandy to find a cure for the genophage.
– Victus and Wrex have side-missions for Shepard.

Still on the Normandy, we wrap up more post-mission chats. Like:
– Speaking with the female Krogan, Mordin has named “Eve”.

At this point in the game the optional (although I think it’s vital) priority DLC mission “Eden Prime” is done to, but it’s optional and costs $10, we’ve covered it in our Mass Effect 3: From Ashes Walkthrough. The reason I’m telling you now, is because it unlocks the Prothean squad mate Javik in the game and you’ll see him joining missions from here on out.

Chapter 6: Attican Traverse – The Rachni

A krogan scouting team has gone missing while investigating rumors of activity at the rachni relay. Investigate the missing team and find out what happened.

Although Utukku is habitable, extreme temperatures and violent weather have discouraged colonization. Because the planet has little liquid water to retain heat, surface temperatures regularly oscillate between 70 to -60 degrees Celcius. Utukku’s vegetation is notable for having evolved flexible central stalks to survive high-speed winds as well as leathery leaves to shrug off the planet’s frequent sandstorms. Animal life is mostly confined to the planet’s small oceans. Utukku has few valuable minerals.

Make the right decision about the Rachni. It’s recommended you save the last Rachni queen again, because she’ll provide support for the final battle. When the time comes, you’ll need her troops to increase your Effective Military Strength.

Make it to the end and you’ll unlock the “Tunnel Rat” Achievement / Trophy for surviving the swarm.

The next two parts don’t relate to this mission, but they do wrap up a few side-missions. Such as:
– Mordin has made some breakthroughs on the genophage cure.
– Updates with the crew.

Back on the Normandy, we wrap up more post-mission chatter. Such as:
– Talk to miscellaneous crew and listen in them to find out what’s going on aboard the Normandy.
– Talk to Mordin to get more Genophage background story.
– And Liara wishes to speak with Shepard in the Captain’s Cabin about her galaxy information archive.

On the next page we continue the walkthrough with mission “N7 – Cerberus Abductions”.
