Let’s Talk: AMY

Welcome to another Let’s Talk video, where I will be going over Vector Games’ downloadable survival horror title: AMY!

It is no secret that this game was universally panned by critics and reviewers alike. I, on the other hand, enjoyed the game very much. So much in fact that I decided to go over every element of the game and address the main issues in this review.

Take a look!

Overall I don’t feel the game was worth the reception it received.

It’s not a ‘feature-length’ game with only 6 chapters, but those chapters (unlike most games these days) test you with a variety of challenges. AMY is integral to your survival, utilize her abilities and you won’t fail miserably. Combat is great for a survival horror title; think Siren Blood Curse as opposed to Rule of Rose Jennifer’s pitiful swings. The environments are detailed and dark and I experienced little to no lag in-game (I purchased AMY from the Playstation Network.)

Bottom line? If you love survival horror games, then you may want to try AMY, and if you don’t love survival horror you may want to try something else. Either way it’s always best to try something based on your own thoughts and opinions.

The music pieces playing in this review are from a selection of survival horror soundtracks available to buy on iTunes.co.uk and Amazon.com. Here are the tracks in the order they appear:

1. Crazy Cop – Forbidden Siren OST
2. Tears Of… – Silent Hill OST
3. Karuwari II – Forbidden Siren OST
4. Room of An Angel – Silent Hill 4: The Room OST
5. In Praise of the Han River (B4-A3) – The Host OST

So what do you think? Have you played AMY? Did it’s reception put you off playing it? Perhaps you don’t even like survival horror games? Don’t forget to leave your comments and opinions in the section below!
