Wii U Will Be Demoed At CES 2012. But Nothing New?

The Wii U will be demoed at the Computer Electronics Show 2012 on January 10-13th, Nintendo has confirmed.

Sadly though, no new content on the upcoming console, the follow-up to the Wii, will be shown… Additionally, while demos of games will be shown off, no actual products will be at the show. So basically, we’ll be seeing the same stuff we saw at E3 2011.

“Nintendo of America, working with the 2012 International CES management, will offer demos of the upcoming Wii U console to members of the media who did not see the system at the 2011 E3 Expo. Nintendo will not have a booth at CES, nor does it plan to include any games, experiences or information beyond what was available at the 2011 E3 Expo.”

Very sad to hear. You’d hope Nintendo would do SOMETHING… maybe they’re holding it close to the chest and will make a surprise splash? It’s doubtful though, but we’ll see soon enough.

Here’s a graphical demo from the Wii U announcement, showing the power behind the console.
