Project Ogre Will Be Kojima’s Next Game

Project Ogre is the codename for Hideo Kojima’s next videogame project!

And the first two screenshots, allegedly from the upcoming “works-in-progress” title, were posted by Kojima on his Twitter page. Teasing fans… that bastard!

These new screenshots show off a prototype of the game running in the new “Fox Engine” that has been developed by Konami for their next-generation projects.

The first screenshot simply shows a soldier kneeling beside an NPC tank. Does this screenshot suggest a Middele Eastern setting? The second screenshot shows two female characters in what looks to be a desert… are they wearing translucent underwear? Kojima tweeted that it is indeed now possible, thanks to the power of the Fox Engine. Yikes.

The Fox Engine made its big splash at last year’s E3. It is possible that these screenshots could be Metal Gear Solid 5, which Kojima says could possibly feature The Boss and her Cobra unit… But for now the game (which could be all-new and unrelated to Metal Gear) is being referred to as “Project Ogre”.

Also under development by Hideo Kojima is Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which made a big splash at the Spike Video Game Awards 2011.

Here’s a video regarding the new Fox Engine from E3 2011.

Here’s the awesome debut trailer for the re-birthed Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
