Beyond Good & Evil 2, Ubisoft’s anticipated BGE sequel, may launch on this generation of consoles!

The latest issue of Xbox World Magazine made this claim, much to the excitement of Beyond Good and Evil fans everywhere, by stating that “some sources are saying we’ll see it this generation rather than next.”

This follows recent claims of “technical issues” with the game, which is hindering overall progress according to game creator Michael Ancel.

The sequel to the cult favorite “Beyond Good and Evil” has been MIA for some time now. The 2008 teaser trailer alone has kept hope alive for eager fans. And though this rumor is encouraging, it is just that – a rumor. It’s far more exciting to see the game talked about full-stop, considering that it has been off the radar for far too long!

Not familiar with the game? Take a look the teaser trailer!

So what do you make of this news? Are you a fan of the first game? Perhaps you are tired of waiting for news on the sequel? Feel free to leave your comments and opinions in the section below!

it’s great to hear news about this game i think it will be promissing from the leaked video and concept art it looks that they put a lot of work in it ,  thanks Meg for the post :)

I just hope it comes out for computers, but the game being released at all will be a miracle – one I’m looking forward to.

The trailer, btw, still looks really good after 3 or so years.

@Photographer_Leia:disqus : Yeah CGI never goes out of style. I’ve linked the first mention of the game name to my post that shows a leaked gameplay video fo BG&E2, when the rumor was that they were going for an AC-style parkour gameplay for Jade.

I’m kind of torn on this, but would you and @facebook-1603260387:disqus  rather see the original game’s gameplay or have Jade try the parkour route?

Well i think the new art direction and parkour movements fits well with the urban settings like india with some of the original gameplay from stealth, investigations it will be the perfect mix, and that leaked video is outstanding, thanks :)

Nice! It’s a good mix of genres for sure.

And at this rate we should probably simply be happy if the game gets released at all in the next two years.

I’m honestly not a real parkour fan, but then again that’s mainly because I do not like to play the kinds of games that generally feature it.  Even so, BG&E (original) wasn’t the kind of game I typically play to begin with, but I still ended up really enjoying it.  I will say that I really enjoyed the combat in the first BG@E though.  It was simple, straightforward, and really fit the overall tone of the game.  Anything more complex would have felt out of place.  I think that as long as the parkour does not overtake the game, and as long as it is done well, then I would be okay with it.  BG&E is a unique game, and deserves to be considered as such.

I’ve seen this trailer before, and I would just like to say that watching it make my nose hurt.

Very true. I think for now if you want some Michel Ancel goodness, Rayman Origins is where it’s at (if you’re into platformers and gorgeous artwork, that is).

I’d just be happy to see it released at all.  I mean we’ve waited all this time anyways ….
