This Tekken Tag Tournament 2 preview gives a quick look at what can be expected from Namco Bandai’s upcoming fighting video game.
The game focuses on Heihachi Mishima, former long-time CEO of the Mishima Zaibatsu, who, in the quest of understanding the process of aging, worked in secret to create a drug able to rejuvenate the human body and thus increase longevity.
Once the drug was complete, Heihachi ingested it: his body grew stronger, the signs of aging faded, and the hair on the top of his head grew back and turned black; he was young again!
Intent on showing his power to the world, he soon heard of a new Tekken Tournament to be held.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is a fighting game within the Tekken series and the successor to the 1999 ‘Tekken Tag Tournament’.
The game was released in Japanese arcades on September 14, 2011 and will be released on the PlayStation 3 sometime in 2012.
Katsuhiro Harada, Namco Bandai game director, talks about the release of the upcoming game Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and reveals some interesting details about the game in this interview!

Key Features of Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Here is a list of key elements that will be available in Namco Bandai’s Tekken Tag Tournament 2 based on news and announcements made so far.
The gameplay expands on the tag mechanics featured in the first Tekken Tag, allowing for extended tag combos and combined moves. New techniques will include combined tag throws and tag combos (referred to as “Tag Assaults”).
The game will feature a “stage gimmick” system. An example of the system shown in Famitsu has the player slamming his opponent into wall, which breaks, and the opponent goes flying, landing in a new area where the fight continues. As the opponent falls, the tag partner is waiting at the bottom to continue the combo.
Many characters will be playable in-game, these include: Alisa Bosconovitch, Anna Williams, Armor King II, Asuka Kazama, Baek Doo San, Bruce Irvin, Bryan Fury, Christie Monteiro, Craig Marduk, Devil Jin, Eddy Gordo, Emilie “Lili” de Rochefort, Feng Wei, Ganryu, Heihachi Mishima, Hwoarang, Jack-6, Julia Chang/Jaycee, Jin Kazama, Jinpachi Mishima, Jun Kazama, Kazuya Mishima/Devil Kazuya, King II, Kuma II, Lars Alexandersson, Lei Wulong, Lee Chaolan, Leo Kliesen, Ling Xiaoyu, Marshall Law, Miguel Caballero Rojo, Mokujin, Nina Williams, Panda, Paul Phoenix, Raven, Robert “Bob” Richards, Roger Jr, Sergei Dragunov, Steve Fox, True Ogre, Wang Jinrei, Yoshimitsu and Zafina.
