Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Hinted At?

Modern Warfare 4 could be hitting shelves sooner rather than later according to Activision CEO Bobby Kotick.

According to GameSpot, Activision has already announced plans for another Call of Duty title, as Modern Warfare 3 posts the largest day-one shipments in gaming history.

In addition to this news, Activision is promising at least two more titles from Blizzard next year!

“As we focus on 2012, we have a strong product pipeline which features a minimum of two highly anticipated new titles from Blizzard Entertainment, including Diablo III, and a new Call of Duty game from Activision Publishing,” Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said in a statement accompanying the publisher’s quarterly report.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a first-person shooter video game, developed by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games, with Raven Software having assisted in development. It is the third installment in the Modern Warfare series, a direct sequel to 2009′s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and the eighth Call of Duty installment.

You might remember similar discussions after the release of last year’s Black Ops, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 hinted at in Black Ops.

November 2012 Update: Has Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 been outed by Captain Price voice actor Bill Murray (the other one)? The voice actor said he’s going to the Activision studio this week for the next Call of Duty game, and since he only appears on the Modern Warfare series, that would be the Modern Warfare 3 sequel. Activision denied any of this, but Call of Duty is a yearly released franchise, so this seems like a shoe-in.

Do you guys ever realize how un-realistic the whole call of duty series is? I mean sure in black ops limbs get blown off, sure was yummy! But seriously in the Modern Warfare 3 campaign I can’t think of a single mission in the campaign that I played (ONCE) that there was ever a mission from it that started out and ended with stealth. They all just escalated into some huge damn firefight. Activision. Treyarch. Sledge Hammer. Get a life!

Black ops in only good becouse of its zombies its brilliant but when it comes to multiplayer and campain mw3 and mw 2 beat black ops purely becouse i beleive that black ops looks a farly fake going a little to a plastic looking gun type of game in my opinion

no black ops 1 is the best call of duty out right now and black ops 2 is going to be the best cod out of them all all of the modern warfares sucked and hopefully theres not going to be another one

COD is not unrealistic to anyone who thinks this, it’s real life stuff, I don’t see aliens, predators or anything that is not a real life thing. Games like halo and dead space are unrealistic games but are both great cause they are cool. Gamers that actually aren’t fussy will agree with me that no matter what game you play it’s mostly about the fun and enjoyment that you have. Not putting down a game just cause it is better than one. I’ve been a COD fan for a while now and I’m loving it. Love halo, minecraft ect. Not a real picky person when it comes to gaming, just play stuff that you know is right for you, and not the stuff you dislike. <3

I love every Call Of Duty game a lot.

I’m more of a single-player campaign and Zombies/Spec Ops player, rather than a multiplayer person (gets a bit boring for me after a couple months), and I would welcome many more Call Of Duty games, regardless of the negative reception most people give it, but a Modern Warfare 4?

I think they should leave the Modern Warfare sub-series for a long while and focus on something else.

Black Ops II will already breathe new life into the franchise, and I think the next Modern Warfare game should be developed much more carefully…
