Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Launch Trailer & Behind the Scenes

One of the biggest titles of the year is almost here, the Modern Warfare 3 release date of November 8th is only a week away!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 ups the ante in every way, and this new behind-the-scenes Developer Diary reveals two of the new modes that multiplayer fans can look forward to experiencing when the game launches for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC; effectively kicking off the videogame holiday season (though many would argue it’s already well in full swing, thanks to Battlefield 3 coming out last week! And of course Batman: Arkham City!).

In this video the developers discuss the new “Kill Confirmed” mode, which is similar to Team Deathmatch except you are required to collect the dropped Dog Tags of the opponent you’ve killed in order for that kill to actually count. If you collect the Dog Tag from an opponents kill, you’ll add to your team’s count while dropping your opponents; creating a seesaw effect. You also gain experience with each Dog Tag collected.

Then you have the Team Defender mode, which is similar to Capture the Flag but is a new variation where the team that holds onto the flag the longest wins, instead of dropping the flag off at a destination point. The longer the flag is held, the more points your team will earn. They also discuss the heavy customization in the game which allows you to fully customize your own Private Matches. These game then be shared with friends and the Call of Duty community at large through Call of Duty Elite.

Last but not least, here is the official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Launch Trailer! This trailer focuses on the epic single-player adventure where players travel to unique locations around the globe, from the streets of Paris to downtown New York to a London Subway. With an in-depth storyline and epic set-pieces that you’ve come to expect from the Call of Duty phenomenon.

Did you pick up the Modern Warfare 3 Collector’s Edition and pre-order the game? Will you be taking off work or school to play it? 😛
