What were the best-selling games in America, Japan, and Europe the past week? Thanks to Amazon online sales data here are the games that are the hottest. Think of it as a games weather report.

What follows is a listing of the Top 10 bestsellers per region, for all systems combined.

North America’s Top 10 Games:

1. Battlefield 3 (Xbox 360)
2. Battlefield 3 (PS3)
3. Battlefield 3 (PC)
4. Just Dance 3 (Wii)
5. Batman: Arkham City (Xbox 360)
6. Batman: Arkham City (PS3)
7. Dance Central 2 (Xbox 360 Kinect)
8. FIFA Soccer 12 (PS3)
9. Gears of War 3 (Xbox 360)
10. Kinect Sports Season Two (Xbox 360 Kinect)

EA has unleashed the blockbuster hit game Battlefield 3 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, where it skyrockets to #1 on all charts with over millions sold.

Japan’s Top 10 Games:

Square Enix brings more Final Fantasy to PSP with the brand new action-RPG that’s (so far) Japan-only Final Fantasy Type-0. It’s another Final Fantasy XIII-offshoot, and although it’s no longer named Final Fantasy Agito XIII, it’s still set in the Fabula Nova Crystallis universe.

• Battlefield 3 debuts at the top of the Xbox 360, PS3 & PC charts.
• Just Dance 3 stays #1 on the Wii chart.
• Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition returns at #1 on the 3DS chart.
• The Sims 3 Pets remains at the top of the Mac chart.
• New Super Mario Bros. stays on the DS chart, for its 5th straight year.
• Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable claims the top spot on the PSP chart.
• And lastly, Kingdom Hearts II appears on the PS2 chart, where it’s been for 5 years now.
