The Soul Calibur V release date has been set to January 31st, 2012 in America and February 3rd, 2012 in Europe.

Soul Calibur V is the latest entry in the long-running weapons-based fighter where characters have freedom of movement in any direction and the game has a kind of medieval-style feel. This newest title is set directly after the events of Soul Calibur IV, taking place 17 years after the end of that game. The new protagonist of Soul Calibur V is Patroklos and his sister Pyrrha, who are the son and daughter (respectively) of Sophitia.

All of your favorite Soul Calibur V characters return in this game from past entries and most have aged or changed appropriatly. Returning characters include Siegfried, Ivy, Hildegard, Maxi, Mitsurugi, Nightmare, Tira, Voldo, Astaroth, Raphael, Dampierre (only with a pre-order) and several new characters, including Patroklos and Pyrrha Alexandra, Yan Leixia (15 year old girl with a Chinese sword and daughter of Xianghua), Natsu (A female ninja and disciple of Taki, who’s possessed by the demon “Arahabaki”), Z.W.E.I. (A new antagonist who fights with a Wolf he can summon named “E.I.N.”, and wields a blade with three handles) and Viola, a woman servant of Z.W.E.I. who doesn’t recall her past. She fights with a steel claw and purple orb.

In addition to the above characters, Ezio from Assassin’s Creed is playable in Soul Calibur V! Which will be sure to make this entry even more popular than it would be normally. Hopefully Altair is also unlockable.

Additionally, a Soul Calibur V Collector’s Edition has been announced with will include an Art Book, Soundtrack CD, Making-of DVD Documentary, a signed paper from the development team from Namco’s Project Soul and exclusive DLC items such as the Black Knight and Paladin Armor Sets.

Here is the reveal trailer of Ezio in Soul Calibur V!

just so you know, this game is not midieval style, this game takes place in the time of Renaissance, in the very late midievals about the time the new world is rediscoverd, ofc there is no real date set in soul calibur, but you can obviously tel, but you probably dont care anyway, what a shame
