Valve has announced that the next major Portal 2 update will be… A MAP EDITOR!
As you can see from the first screenshot above of the Portal 2 Map Editor in action, the design will be extremely simple and easy to use, making it easier than ever for fans to create their own crazy Portal 2 levels and flesh out the ideas they have.
The Portal 2 Level Editor will allow for the creation of both single-player or cooperative stages and features an incredibly simple interface that anyone should be able to grasp. Players will also be able to share their created levels with their friends, download user-created levels from the community at large, play user-created levels and vote on them, all with a simple click.
Very cool.
