Whoo hooo! Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch will be released in America and Europe in 2012 announced Namco Bandai, who will publish this highly anticipated RPG developed by Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke) and Level-5 (Professor Layton series, Dragon Quest IX, White Knight Chronicles series, Rogue Galaxy).
Known as “Second Country” or “Other World” in Japan, the game is a series of two RPGs, one for DS and one for PS3, built from the ground up with stunning, animated feature film-style visuals on the PlayStation 3, and graphically impressive looks on the DS.
The one coming to the West will be the PS3 version (Second Country: The Queen of White Sacred Ash in Japan), which will go under the English title of: Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch.
If you’ve seen the game in action, or know the Studio Ghibli films, then you should definitely be excited. The game looks like a living watercolor come to life, and is an epic RPG with action elements that gamers the world over DESERVE to play, so HUGE kudos to Namco for delivering this game to the West!
And that’s not all! The Western version, as is often the case with JRPGs, will be enhanced over the Japanese version. It will include new areas to explore, the introduction of a couple new characters, and an all-new perspective on the game’s story!
Here is what Level-5’s President Akihiro Hino had to say about the news: “It was a momentous experience to create a game with artists who represent Japan as much as Studio Ghibli and Mr. Hisaishi do. We sincerely want to share this title with the entire world.”
AWESOME. No word on whether or not the DS version will be coming over. It may depend on the success of the PlayStation 3 Ni No Kuni in America and Europe. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled and BUY this game when it comes out! Hopefully Namco is already working on also translating the DS version too. It’d be a crime to miss out on such a great game.
