Professor Layton and the Last Specter Walkthrough Part 11 – Collection
In Part 11 of my Professor Layton and the Last Specter Walkthrough, we meet the “Tutorial” man with the hair once again, who convinces us to tap tap tap away and reveal the all-new Collection feature; and the first collectable, a Fossil. We also solve Puzzle #11 – Downhill From Here.
Professor Layton and the Last Specter Walkthrough Part 12 – Hotel
In Part 12, Luke and the gang do lots more exploring as they search for the Hotel. We also find our first Hidden Puzzle in the bushes next to the hotel. It is Hidden Puzzle #145 – Planet Cube. In addition, we solve Puzzle #12 – Room Check and Puzzle #13 – Bucket Run. Last but not least, we reach a new Chapter in the main game, Chapter 3: The Specter Appears.
Professor Layton and the Last Specter Walkthrough Part 13 – Meow
Instead of staying, the gang decides to go out and explore Ely a bit more before it gets dark and the Specter appears. This is the part of the game where we reach the “meat”, and start to find puzzles with extreme frequency, as we do exploring the areas around the hotel. Once we exit the hotel, we solve a string of puzzles: Puzzle #14: Cafeteria Conundrum, Puzzle #15: Eating Point and Puzzle #17: Which Doll?, we eat in a nice little restaurant until our bellies are full, find two new Items for our Collection, discover a new Toy Train Course (which we don’t solve) and Luke runs into a mysterious purple feline. A cat to which he gives chase… like the little boy he is! We also find another strange “Mouse Badge”, by tapping on the scurrying mouse that appears in the scene from time to time before disappearing. I wonder what the Mouse Badge is all about…
Professor Layton and the Last Specter Walkthrough Part 14 – Fishes & Witches
In Part 14, we make a lot of progress in the game. We chase the cat through several new scenes and new areas, including a Laboratory where we earn the all-new “Fishing” mini-game. We also discover that the cat belongs to a Witch, “Granny Riddleton” (or “Granny R”) and her shack. The cat will save unsolved puzzles for you, and allow you to play them even if you “missed” the puzzle (meaning you’ve progressed too far into the game to go back and earn that puzzle). Fans of the series will recognize Granny R. as one of the recurring characters. We also find a ton of Hint Coins, a Mouse Badge, the first Fish mini-game course (Pleasant Garden, which we solve), we find Hidden Puzzle #146 – Hidden Books (which we fail to solve), and solve Hidden Puzzle #147 – Tricolor Cubes. Last but not least, we discover a new Item for the Collection.
We also solve Puzzle #19 – Fish Feud, a puzzle I am able to solve easily again thanks to taking a picture of it with my cellphone. 😀
Professor Layton and the Last Specter Walkthrough Part 15 – Fog
In Episode 15, a bit of backtracking is in order as we hunt down the elusive Puzzle #16. After much exploration of previously explored areas, we find the puzzle within the Mayor’s residence, thanks to Luke’s butler. We then solve Puzzle #16 – Captain’s Call with a lucky guess. During this sequence we discover a ton of Hint Coins and a new Mouse Badge, and finally unlock Bucky’s Boat Ride, which allows you to “teleport” and easily access sections of Misthallery you’ve previously visited. We also solve Puzzle #18 – Faulty Lights and Puzzle #20 – Counting Cats. Eventually hunger calls, and we end up back at the quant restaurant for a bite of eat. After stuffing our faces, the gang exits to discover that night has fallen. The Last Specter…. IS NIGH!
