    Dead Space 3 Announced

Dead Space 3, NOT yet announced, will be set on an ice planet, and NOT in space, so says reports.

This news comes from an insider source who reported on the details to Siliconera. And follows an Israeli news show which reported on seeing a Dead Space 3 poster or sign when they were touring an EA office.

Dead Space 3 is reportedly set upon an ice planet that Isaac crash lands to, instead of being set on the Tau Volantis spaceship.

Apparently Isaac finds himself as the only survivor on this mysterious, cold and dreaded place, but later learns that Ellie Langford has also lived, but is in another location with a group of people. A new character named Jennifer will be introduced, and Isaac will run into new enemies called “the Hive Mind”.

    Sounds good to me!

Here is a video review of Dead Space 2.

I hope EA will announce Dead Space 3 soon. I’ve been so ambitious for the title release.
I think that the storyline will relate to that of Dead Space 2. Because in Dead Space 2, Isaac also was also looking for survivors and he met one who betrayed him but still you can get the gist. However, the fact that they deprived the story of actual space, kind of defy’s the title and the story itself. Most of Dead Space 2 was characterized with the interaction of space and gravity. If EA completely removes the feel of space in the atmosphere and replaces it with ”on-ground activity”, then the game would lose it’s significance, of which it distinguishes the game from other third person shooters. Yet, look at me, the game isn’t even announced yet and I’m making assumptions on rumors.
Since I’m a fan of speculation on games, with the given information, maybe ”Ellie Langford” and his group of people might be a rebellion set on this so called ”Ice Planet” which fights the new enemies ”The Hive Mind”. However, that all depends on time, if they were raised on the ”Ice Planet” and were, for some reason, attacked in their early lives then maybe they could be a rebellion. Yet, if they also crashed landed onto the mysterious planet, then they could be just as lost as Isaac; but I guess we will have to see when the game is first announced at least and later released. Which also brings me to my next point, I’m glad that EA has eliminated the traditional ”Necromorphs” and replaced them with a new enemy ”The Hive Mind”. I hope that EA will at least show improvement with the new enemies in both graphics and interaction, and not make me regret that they ever left the ”Necromorphs”.
As always, sequels means new equipment and weapons. I’m pretty sure that EA will outdo themselves with new weaponry and equipment in Dead Space 3, as they will with Crysis 3. Although, with these types of games, meaning futuristic third person shooters, it’s fairly easy to alter weapons and equipment to formulate new or improved ones.
Another factor which I’m looking forward to observe is the graphics. Since it’s rumored that EA will set Isaac on a deserted ”Ice Planet”, then my expectations for graphics, particularly snow and ice presentation, are high. EA did a fantastic job on Dead Space 2 in consideration of graphics, so for Dead Space 3, I’m pretty sure they will not let us down.
Multiplayer will be a huge focal point in the upcoming release. In Dead Space 2, EA had done a satisfactory job. I mean it was pretty much based on the Left 4 Dead concept, where you are either the infected or the humans and you fight in a series of Death-matches or Capture the Flag type matches. So, I’m expecting an improvement in the multiplayer area of the game. Maybe EA should incorporate more of a Modern Warfare concept when developing the multiplayer system for this game. They should give a variety of matches and features instead of a series of goal set skirmishes.
The last two things I’m wondering are if this game will raise to the standard of it predecessor and be, again, the scariest game in history? Also, if they game will be released on two discs as it was before? I guess all inquiries will be answered when the game is at least first announced, developed, and released.
In conclusion, I’m very excited for the game and maybe it will prosper to be an anticipated one in it’s announcing year.

“Hive Mind” sounds an awful lot like “Gravemind” from halo… But I liked Dead Space more, so looking forward to it
