A Kid Icarus: Uprising anime, or rather, animated shorts, have been announced by Nintendo at the Tokyo Game Show 2011.
Announced by Satoru Iwata during the pre-TGS 2011 Press Conference, Nintendo first announced that Kid Icarus: Uprising was delayed to 2012 officially. This news was very sad to hear considering how far along Kid Icarus: Uprising looks, and how long it has been in development.
That’s when Satoru Iwata revealed that Nintendo would make up for the delay with several Kid Icarus 3D anime shorts being developed exclusively for the 3DS and being produced by renowned anime studios including Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell), Studio 4C (Steamboy, Spriggan) and Shaft!
What’s more, the anime shorts will be distributed worldwide for free via the 3DS eShop. Awesome!
Here is a look at Kid Icarus: Uprising, which impresses more and more with each showing. It should be released in early (January or February) 2012 exclusively for 3DS.
