Over 50 Rocksmith songs will be on the soundtrack for this real-guitar music game being developed by Ubisoft.

The hook here is that you can plug any real guitar into the game, and the game literally teaches you how to play that song on your actual real-life guitar!

To accomplish this you will play by using an interface that mirrors the neck of a real guitar with numbers and colors denoting which string to strum and hit as they head towards the fret bar onscreen.

The game has no difficulty level, with the goal being to level-up songs as you learn them in real life; With you starting out with arrangements of single notes, chords, or full charts with a minimalist version, then graduating with more notes until you are playing the entire song in real-life fullbore!

It’ll be interesting to see if this music game will revolutionize or lit a new fire under the slagging music game genre; which has been replaced with Dance games in recent times. However Rocksmith is not the first game to try using a real guitar (Rock Band 3 and Power Gig: Rise of the SixString.

did anyone forget the fact that, even though the songs may not appeal to everyone, this is the FIRST game that actually lets you PLAY a guitar?  really.. not a plastic ‘wanna be’ guitar, a real guitar.  I absolutely hate some of the tunes on this game.. but… it’s teaching me to play, and in doing so, I learn to look at those crappy songs as a means to an end.
at some point, I’m sure, there will be some software to use that will take any songs you want to play in this game.
I really like having this tutor with me 24/7.  If you already know how to play, then I’m sure there is frustration with this game..

Couldn’t agree more, but for a few exceptions the track list is garbage for lack of a better term, a complete disgrace.

Little fact about AC/DC, they wouldn’t allow one game to go on a song, although I’m not quite sure about rock band with the one song ‘Let there be rock’ But they said they will never release one individual song. But I do agree with you :)
