Hello everyone and welcome to VGB’s Budget Gaming feature with Meg!

In this video series I’ll be going through my personal tips and recommendations for saving money on video games! But don’t forget to submit your own, so I can feature them in future videos!

In this budget gaming video I’ll be talking about renting video games!

Renting gives you the chance to try out a game without committing to a purchase you may or may not like! This is always a good option and it can save you money in the long run.

You can rent video games from a variety of stores and websites!

  • Blockbusters is always a good choice for UK residents. They are practically everywhere and offer good deals and (depending on the size of the store) have a good range of games to choose from.
  • Gamefly.com has some good deals going too and the trial is free!
  • Gamerang and Gamemine.com are also good sites to try.

I personally don’t rent many games often, as I prefer to buy them then try them. But rental is a great choice for people who don’t necessarily want to buy video games and prefer to try a game before deciding!

So are you a deal-saver? Are there any stores or websites that you swear by? Perhaps you’ve found an amazing little store you want to share, please leave your comments in the section below!

Thank you for watching and I’ll see you in my next Budget Gaming video!

Yes, I believe renting videogames is an excellent option. I’m currently a Gamefly member and renting videogames give me a chance to play all the games I decided I wasn’t going to pre-order. Furthermore if your on a trophy or achievement hunt I would definately recommend renting videogames.

I used to rent video games all the time at a local video store (remember those!?).
But I haven’t rented anything in over 10 years now, I usually end up downloading the demo if I want to give the game a try.
Good tip for achievement hunters tho!

Thanx Ferry, local video strores are almost extinct where I’m from. I also play a lot of demos as well, if I like the game I’ll rent, if I love the game I’ll buy, and if I know that I’m really gonna enjoy I’ll pre-order.  :)
