Mario Kart 7 is the 7th core installment of this best-selling, long-running kart racing genre grandpappy and is the first version of Mario Kart developed from the ground up for the stereoscopic 3D glasses-free Nintendo 3DS system.
New to this version of the game are air and water portions of tracks (where your kart automatically spawns a hang glider for air or propeller for underwater) and the return of Coins (last seen in Mario Kart: Super Circuit for the Game Boy Advance, Coins debuted in the first game in the series, Super Mario Kart for Super Nintendo, and allowed you to go faster by collecting them).
Mario Kart 7 includes online multiplayer, the ability to trade Ghost Data for your best track times, and the ability to customize your kart by changing its chassis, wheel type and glider.
