Farmville hack by cheating girl scout

“Nerdy News” is a mini-news show geared towards gamers, technosexuals, and all other geeky peeps.

In this twenty-seventh episode of Nerdy News, I’ll be reporting on:

  • OnLive’s cloud gaming service coming to the UK.
  • The latest on the Australia R18+ video game rating issue.
  • The game industry giants shifting from retail to digital.
  • A 10 year old girl scout who hacked Farmville!

Here’s the new episode of Nerdy News!

What do you think?

What do you think? Will OnLive’s cloud gaming service be successful in the United Kingdom? How does OnLive measure up to the streaming service, Steam? Do you think Australia’s new R18+ video game rating will reduce the number of game’s banned? What do you think of DefCon’s new Kid’s Village? Should kids be taught and encouraged to learn “good” hacking?

If you have any advice or tips on how I can improve these videos let me know in the comments! Thanks for all of your opinions! ^_^

Laura, finally got a better cam? Awesome watching Nerdy News without all the distortion! Origin might be a winner for EA but I won’t be buying anything from them. I would have loved to play Battlefield 3 but will not if I have to use Origin. Even if they put it on Steam, then make me sign up for Origin I won’t be playing that game. I tried it out when I got into the B3 Alpha test and was not impressed. Add on to my poor impressions that EA says they will delete paid for DLC if you don’t log in every so often and I will pass on ever spending money or even so much as giving them my support for a paid game bought elsewhere.
EA tried to throw money at making something that wasn’t needed, just so they could gain market share where they didn’t need it. All of my friends are on Steam and as I don’t see every single one of them leaving all of their games behind to get on Origin, the PITA that is their punkbuster implementation is too much. Just to play the Alpha I had to turn off my anti-virus, uninstall my Wacom tablet software, turn off Steam completely and remove several other chat programs from memory as they all have overylays built in. I understand that overlays help cheaters, but to go through all that trouble to play a game on a delivery system I don’t care for? Not going to happen. Hopefully enough Steam fanboys like myself play MW3 instead forcing EA to give up on making people who play their games install yet another back end just to get their game on.

I did finally got a better camera! But with my busted foot I couldn’t get my lighting set up so the quality was still a bit disappointing. But even with the darkness, the video is still a lot better. ^_^

Sounds like you have your mind made up about Origin and I have to agree. Steam is still the clear leader in the digital stream/download world. Now that they have some competition, I hope they continue to be an innovative leader and not get too complacent. I’m really excited to see what developments will take place over the next two years, I think there is going to be a lot of changes in the industry.

I am glad I don’t live in Australia. I find it annoying they ban Video Games left and right. But yet it okay to see movies with Violence and TV shows. That a double Standard if you ask me. They should have had Video Game Ratings a long time ago. There behind the years and there working
in the stone age in my humble opinion. They make Video games seem like Contraband like Drugs.
There has not been any evidence to support that people who play Violent games go out and kill
People. Someone does not go out one night and do that. There was something wrong with them
in the First place. If it is true that Violent games lead to that there would be evidence. No
Evidence means no Valid truth to it. There using Games as a scape goat. I do agree children
should not play certain type of games. But don’t ban adults or everyone from playing it.
It my money and what I do at home is not anyone business unless it harmful to others
or yourself. Government going to dictate what I can and can’t do? Syndicate was Banned
from Australia. There Ridiculous over there.
