Assassin’s Creed: Embers, an animated short film, has been officially announced by Ubisoft.

The upcoming movie will expand on the mythology of the series and give fans Ezio’s final chapter, an epilogue of sorts that will wrap up the character and his four-decade journey through the previous Assassin’s Creed games.

Ezio was the star of Assassin’s Creed 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC), Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) and the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (Xbox 360, PS3, PC). As well as Assassin’s Creed 2: Discovery (DS, iOS), Assassin’s Creed: Project Legacy (Facebook), and Assassin’s Creed: Lineage (live-action webisode series). Phew! That’s a lot of Ezio!

Assassin’s Creed: Embers will launch alongside Assassin’s Creed: Revelations when it releases on November 15, 2011.

Developed by UbiWorkshop, Embers will also be included with the Collector’s Edition and Animus versions of Revelations, as well as be offered for digital download via Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network.

Pricing wasn’t yet revealed, although Revelations is currently available for pre-order from retailers.

Here is the debut trailer for the Assassin’s Creed: Embers movie.

Looks badass doesn’t it! I can’t wait!

This series is one of the best games I’ve played and enjoyed. I can’t wait to see how Ezio’s journey ends. The trailer for the short movie looks good and makes me want the game more.
