Netflix Prices Increased

Netflix has restructured the price you will have to pay for the features on offer.

This will likely come as a shock to the bajillions who enjoy instant video streaming, but thankfully the pricing really only affects the ability to rent a DVD or Bluray disc AND stream content at the same time.

Basically, you can now only choose one or the other, or be forced to pay a higher price. Although that price is now more in line with what you pay for an MMO or other services, so it’s still not too bad.

Here is the breakdown of the new plans and pricing structure:

  • $8 – Will net you the ability to rent one physical DVD at a time. No streaming.
  • $8 – Will net you unlimited streaming. No ability to rent physical media.
  • $12 – Will net you the ability to rent 2 physical media (DVD or Bluray) at a time.
  • $16 – Will net you 1 physical media rental AND unlimited streaming.
  • Netflix is available via the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. It will be coming soon for Nintendo 3DS as well, hopefully with a select number of stereoscopic 3D movies.

And in other Netflix news, the entire catalog of Sony-published media has been removed from the service. Apparently it has to do with Netflix having TOO many customers and hitting some kind of quota.

But who cares! Because you can now get EVERY SEASON of Power Rangers! New or old, all in HD quality. No more torrent downloading with gigs of your precious HDD space being taken up to hold them all!

No sarcasm here folks, I’m a huge Power Ranger fan so they may have just made a customer for life.

Not only that, but many other classic cartoons are also available like 90s Spider-Man! What more could you want in life?

How often do YOU use Netflix on a game system?
