Kirby Wii E3 2011 trailer shows four-player co-op

Kirby returns to Wii this Fall 2011. Teams with Meta Knight, King Dedede and Waddle Dee for 4-player co-op!
A new Kirby Wii trailer has been released for the upcoming Wii Kirby title which is scheduled for this Fall 2011.

This time Kirby can team up with four other players for some cooperative action. Other teammates will control Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede and Waddle Dee and specific team attacks and co-op moves are at your disposal when playing with friends.

For example the trailer shows Kirby riding atop Meta Knight, slashing through enemies, and at the end Kirby can be seen sucking all three partners up and then spitting them out at the Whispy Woods Tree boss.

Like that classic boss, the rest of Kirby Wii is classic side-scrolling Kirby action and it is obvious that this game hails from the once-cancelled Kirby Adventure Wii project!

Very happy that they decided to revive and continue development on the game, which originally started development way back at E3 2005 for GameCube and used the Super Smash Bros. Brawl engine.

If you love Kirby, you’ll love this game. And you’ll be happy to see Kirby returning to his roots unlike the awesome diversion he took in Kirby’s Epic Yarn. Unlike that game, this game has Kirby sucking in enemies, floating, spitting them out and copying them to acquire new abilities! You can also see some fantastic platforming action, even a couple stages that look inspired by Super Mario Galaxy 2!

Here is the debut trailer for Kirby Wii (known as Kirby 2011 at E3 2010).

How many Kirby’s did you see in the trailer? I saw: Parasol Kirby, Stone Kirby, Boomerang Kirby, Sword Kirby, Cannonball Kirby, Tornado Kirby,
Kuribo’s Shoe Kirby(!), Ice Water Kirby, Candle Kirby, Leaf Kirby, Cowboy Whip Kirby!

And in case you were curious, here are the previous iterations of the “Kirby” (which we dubbed Kirby’s Adventure Wii and Kirby 2011).

And here is the original trailer from 2005 when Kirby used the Smash Bros. Brawl engine.
